Orlando Home Theater Frequently Asked Questions:

How much does a professional home theater installation cost in Orlando?

A professional home theater installation in Orlando typically ranges from $5,000 to more than $500,000, depending on complexity. A basic media room (TV mounting and 5.1 surround sound) sits at the lower end, while a dedicated cinema room with acoustic treatment, 4K projection, and custom seating scales higher.

Can I install a home theater system on my outdoor patio or lanai?

Yes, but you must use weather-rated equipment. Orlando’s high humidity and salt air cause standard indoor TVs and speakers to fail quickly, so we recommend ultra-bright outdoor displays (such as SunBrite or Furrion) and IP66-rated weather-resistant speakers built to survive the Florida elements. Audio solutions from leaders in the industry such as Sonance, James Loudspeaker, Coastal Source, and Truaudio are designed for the outdoor environment.

Why is my home theater remote not controlling all my devices?

Many reasons can cause this. Typically an emitter fell off of or was moved to the wrong location on a device. However, things like IP/network settings, power supply failure, RF/Wireless gateway issues, or even a dead battery in the remote. Sometimes you can even experience a breakdown in HDMI-CEC communication.

How do I protect my home theater from Florida lightning strikes?

Standard power strips are not enough for Central Florida’s lightning frequency. You need a dedicated power conditioner plus a whole-home surge protector installed at the breaker panel. This guards against a direct hit and also filters out “dirty power” — the voltage fluctuations that degrade sensitive audio-visual components over time. It also is beneficial to install lightning protection such as a single point or multi-point system.

Why is my surround sound out of sync with the picture?

This “lip-sync” error is usually caused by heavy video processing in the TV or projector delaying the image behind the audio. Most modern AV receivers have an “Audio Delay” or “Lip-Sync” setting that lets you shift the audio in milliseconds to match the video. If it persists across every streaming app, power-cycle your HDMI devices or upgrade to high-speed HDMI 2.1 cables for proper eARC communication. This can also be caused by an issue at the streaming sources level such as Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Etc.
